How it works
Northern Bedrock’s mission is to develop enduring workforce and life skills through service learning in historic preservation and community stewardship. Our AmeriCorps program provides young adults (ages 18-25) the opportunity to develop preservation trade skills through hands-on training and projects. During field season, June through October, crews meet in Duluth, MN, and travel to serve on historic sites and structures across the state of Minnesota!
Crews are made up of 6 corpsmembers, ages 18-25. Each corpsmember earns a bi-weekly living stipends during their term, is eligible for student loan forbearance during their term of service, and receives an Education Award upon completion, to be used for educational expenses.
Where we are

“I had never gotten certifications like OSHA 10 and First Aid [before], and I’ve done lots of networking and got to work with the United States Forrest Service and National Park Service people. As for personal development, I feel I’ve grown much more confident, especially in using tools and knowing how to perform tasks correctly.”2023 Field Season Corpsmember
